Patrick Uy
Patrick Uy is a highly regarded Filipino photographer whose career spans advertising, portraiture, and wedding photography. Educated in Jesuit institutions—Xavier School, San Juan and the Ateneo de Manila University—he went on to establish himself as a leader in the visual arts, serving as President of the Advertising Photographers Association of the Philippines and later as President of the Camera Club of the Philippines, one of the oldest and most distinguished photography organizations in the country.
In the field of advertising, Uy made a significant impact through his creative campaigns, most notably with his photograph of Richard Gomez, which became the first fashion billboard in the Philippines, setting new standards in visual communication. His reputation for excellence extended into wedding and event photography, where he documented the unions of some of the Philippines’ most celebrated personalities, including Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez, Andrew E, Ruffa Gutierrez and Yilmaz Bektas, Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, and Amanda Page and Dr. Lee Mendiola. On the international stage, he was entrusted with photographing the coronation of King Jigme Wangchuck of Bhutan. His artistry was further recognized when he placed among the Top 2 in the Master Cup of the Camera Club of the Philippines.
Uy’s career has also been shaped by his global experiences. A former sales representative of a tour operator, a Japan Airlines subsidiary operating in Hong Kong and the Philippines, he cultivated an early passion for travel. His extensive journeys have taken him across Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America, with destinations including ASEAN- Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand most recently Botswana. He also attended
the historic Leica 100-year celebration in Wetzlar, Germany, underscoring his lifelong commitment to the craft of photography.
Most recently, in 2025, Uy served as the principal portrait photographer for the CWC Coffee Table Book, a landmark publication featuring leading Filipino architects, interior designers, and collectors. This project underscores his enduring influence in capturing not only iconic personalities but also the creative spirit that continues to shape Philippine culture.
